Anne R. Harris, CCEP
Principal and Owner, Ethics Works LLC

Anne Harris established Ethics Works in 2015 to help organizations mitigate risk by providing advisory services on the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of ethics and compliance programs. She brings over 17 years’ experience in compliance and ethics to her clients, who represent a variety of industries including for-profit, non-profit, NGOs, and municipal entities.

The majority of Ethics Works’ clients are United States government contractors subject to the U.S. Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and related requirements. Anne has been engaged as an independent expert consultant to conduct numerous assignments pursuant to administrative agreements and potential debarments by U.S. government agencies.

Anne has extensive experience with compliance and ethics program assessment, culture assessment, and risk assessment; Codes of Conduct and policies; communications and training; internal investigations; hotline/helpline management; and global ethics and compliance programs. She advises leaders and boards and provides coaching for supervisors as well as for ethics and compliance officers.

Before founding Ethics Works, Anne worked with the consulting firm JTI, Inc., advising large European multinational clients on ethics and compliance program enhancement.

Anne retired from General Dynamics Corporation after having served for nearly a decade as Staff Vice President and Ethics Officer. In that role, she led the Ethics and Business Conduct program as it grew to extend to 95,000 employees in over 45 countries. During that time, she served on the Working Group of the DII (Defense Industry Initiative on Business Ethics and Conduct) and the Steering Committee of IFBEC (International Forum on Business Ethical Conduct for the Aerospace and Defence Industry).

Anne’s transition to ethics and compliance followed a 20-year career in Human Resources. Her previous leadership roles included HR Vice President at General Dynamics C4 Systems and a number of Human Resources roles in GTE Corporation (now Verizon) in areas such as executive compensation, international HR, and management development and training.

Anne has published articles in magazines such as Corporate Responsibility and National Defense. Her webinar, “Evaluating Corporate Ethics and Compliance Programs,” is offered on the Clear Law Institute’s online education site. She is a consultant to the Ethics and Compliance Initiative (ECI) and provides volunteer consulting support to the National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA).

Anne holds a BA degree from Smith College, in Northampton, Massachusetts, and an MBA from INSEAD, the European Institute of Business Administration, in Fontainebleau, France. She is a Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP®) and a National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) Board Governance Fellow.
